Boudoir doesn't have to bare all

Along with delving full-time into my photography business, I wanted to focus more on empowering women through boudoir sessions. Boudoir has become increasingly popular in the past couple of years, but people don't always know what it is.

bou·doir

/ˈbo͞oˌdwär/

noun

  • 1. a woman's dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room

While Mirram-Webster doesn't say anything about photographs, I like the thought of capturing those quite moments with one's self in those places. I don't think that a boudoir session has to be a bare all situation. I think that people automatically think corsets, lingerie and nudes have to be part of a boudoir shoot and that mindset has a tendency to scare people away from booking a session. I believe that a boudoir session should be empowering, and a women taking time to herself to reflect, drink wine or pose sensually are all just that. These photos from my most recent session with my dear friend Gabi are a great example of this. These are quiet moments with just herself in cozy clothing that's comfortable for her. Of course, if you want something more race-y, I'm here for that too — you do you!

I urge you take a step out of your comfort zone to do something special for yourself and book yourself a photo session. Let's make some magic!
